Johns Manville Corporation

i2 Construction was the negotiated general contractor for the reconfiguration of Johns Manville’s corporate headquarters at 717 17th Street in Denver. Completed in January of 2014, the project encompassed the consolidation of 8 full floors of Class A office space down to 5 full floors. Key objectives include a more efficient use of existing office space as well as a complete fit and fixture upgrade to align with the current Johns Manville brand. From a systems standpoint, i2 worked with Manville Plaza’s pneumatically controlled mechanical to install a Building Automated System. i2 also demo’d the existing traditional lighting and installed a remote controlled, low volt lighting control system with has daylight-harvesting photo and occupancy sensors. Another key mechanical initiative for this project included the removal of three large rooftop units from the 30th floor and the complete removal of the supporting systems from the roof down to the lower level. This involved all the electrical runs of six 4” conduits and 2 larger steel pipe loops which supported an old data center in the 7th floor.
