Project Rewind – Atrium Place and The Chotin Group
September 25, 2014
In late 2011, i2 Construction was selected as the negotiated general contractor to assist in the repositioning of the 45,000 SF Atrium Place building in Greenwood Village. Working in close collaboration with Catalyst Planning Group (project management), BurkettDesign (design/architecture), Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (brokerage) and The Chotin Group (primary tenant and building owner), the Atrium Place project involved the complete remodel and transformation of this DTC “B” property. Key project elements included:
• Complete remodel of the main building entrance and courtyard, including new glass entry storefront and modified structural walkways
• 200 LF skylight replacement in the building’s atrium
• Exterior lighting, monument signage, parking structure modifications and full landscaping retrofit
• All new building-automated Trane HVAC system w/ rooftop screening
• New plumbing infrastructure and features
• Upgraded electrical services and implementation of new fire sprinkle/ alarm system
i2 also completed the tenant finish for The Chotin Group’s 10,000 SF office concurrent to the overall building improvement endeavor. All told, the project was successfully completed in approximately 20 weeks and delivered on the key objective, which was to create the Denver Tech Center’s newest “Class A” property. Since completing the project in late 2012, Atrium Place has welcomed Humanscale, Mutual Bank of Omaha and Interstate Restoration as tenants in addition to The Chotin Group.
